The Government House is located what used to be the Royal Alberta Museum. I got to visit this house once on a tour. It has a circular staircase inside. I knew that the Lieutenant Governors once lived there, but did not know that in World War II it was used as a veterans hospital. This is a beautiful building, and stands the test of time.
Served as official residence of Alberta's first six Lieutenant Governors; its imposing exterior, prominent location and distinctive architecture symbolize Alberta's new provincial status and Edmonton’s new role as capital in the early 20th century
