Art @ 231 is a beacon for artists to exhibit their works. It is an intimate gallery in a beautiful, clean, bright open space at the centre of James Street North in Hamilton, Ontario.
The objective of this gallery, which consists of active participants in the ongoing development of James Street North community’s art culture, is to assist artists to exhibit, promote, organize and sell their art.
This gallery’s website indicates that they have exhibits that change approximately once per month. Also an interesting tidbit to note is that Art @ 231 participates in an “Art Crawl”, a Hamiltonian event that takes place the second Friday of every month. During Art Crawls, all the art studios, restaurants, and bars are open until late hours of the night. Similar to the Art Crawls is the Super Crawl, a three-day event in Hamilton that takes place every September, drawing thousands of people to celebrate the arts and culture that Hamilton has to offer.
Furthermore, the gallery hosts three-hour, beginner-level workshops in drawing during the days, nights, or weekends.
