  • Tanveer Gill
    British Columbia

    Tanveer is a third year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student at University of British Columbia Okanagan. As someone who has received numerous awards for community + global development most notably the B.C. Community Achievement Award.

  • Miranda Andersen
    British Columbia

    Miranda has been making films about environmental issues since she was nine years old. She has received international recognition for her movies and is the recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.

  • Griffin Andersen
    British Columbia

    A long time volunteer at a local salmon hatchery, Griffin enjoys working and playing in the great outdoors. He is a talented painter (especially of wildlife) and a great public speaker. He swims competitively and trains six days a week.

  • Evan Smibert
    Alberta

    Evan Smibert is an artist, musician and educator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In 2013, he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (Studio Concentration) from the University of Calgary and is currently working on his degree in Secondary Art Education.

  • Alice Pearson
    Alberta

    Alice loves spending time outdoors enjoying the Canadian wilderness. She's been a participant in the Get To Know contest and is currently a member of their National Youth Advisory Board.

  • Brigitte Stewart
    Alberta

    Brigitte was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and after graduating high school moved to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta. She is now in her second year of political science and is very interested in North American politics.

  • Shyanne St. Denis
    Saskatchewan

    Shyanne St. Denis is currently attending the University of Saskatchewan working towards getting her Bachelor’s degree in Education. After obtaining this, she will work towards a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology so she can help the Aboriginal community.

  • Kaitlyn Purvis
    Ontario

    Kaitlyn is a second year student at the University of Western Ontario studying Creative Writing and English Language and Literature. She was originally involved with TakingItGlobal as a finalist in the Defining Moments contest. She loved the experience and is thrilled to be back with the Explore150 project!

  • Chantel O'Brien
    Nova Scotia

    Chantel is an associate with PwC LLP and a member of Nova Scotia's Youth Advisory Council. Spending many summers enjoying Nova Scotia's tourist sites, Chantel hopes Explore150 will inspire youth to visit some of her favorite places, from the Ovens to Halifax's Public Gardens.

    I am a Southern Tutchone from the Kluane First nation in the Yukon Territory Canada. I am an aspiring young leader and artist. I was raised on the lands of the Yukon traditionally, such as the ways of my ancestors. I value the amount of beautiful lands we have as Canadians and wish to share it with the rest of the world.
